This special edition of Voice of Women magazine is produced to celebrate International Women’s Day 2026 under the theme #GivetoGain. The publication highlights the critical role of women in mediation and peacebuilding in South Sudan.
South Sudanese women mediators have played a proactive role in engaging African ambassadors in the country, advocating for stronger pressure on political leaders to ensure a genuine transition from violence to sustainable peace.
The magazine also features powerful impact stories, showcasing how small-scale business initiatives have supported families and strengthened livelihoods. It explores the vital role of media in the mediation process, emphasizing how information-sharing and storytelling contribute to peacebuilding efforts.
In addition, this edition underscores the importance of inclusion, particularly the participation of persons with disabilities. It includes expert perspectives on disability inclusion and gender, ensuring that no voice is left behind in the peace and development agenda.
This publication is produced under the Status of Women Initiative, aiming to promote and reinforce the principles of the African Union’s Maputo Protocol on women’s rights and gender equality.
