Juba, South Sudan – The Executive Director of the Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO), Mr. Edmund Yakani, held a productive meeting on Monday with His Excellency Michael J. Adler, Ambassador of the United States of America to South Sudan, at the CEPO office in Juba.
The meeting focused on key priorities related to South Sudan’s transition from violence to sustainable peace, with particular emphasis on the protection and expansion of civic and political space. Discussions highlighted the importance of inclusive dialogue, democratic governance, citizen participation, and the collective responsibility of national and international stakeholders in supporting peacebuilding efforts across the country.
Mr. Yakani expressed CEPO’s appreciation for the ambassador’s physical visit to the organization’s office, describing the engagement as a demonstration of commitment to understanding and supporting the work of civil society organizations in advancing peace, human rights, and democratic values.
