17-Year-Old Boy Killed in Armed Attack After Pojulu Festival in Yei
Incident Description
On 4 July 2026, the final day of the Pojulu Festival was celebrated at Lizira Playing Ground in Yei. After the event, a group of youths from Hai Simba were returning home when they encountered armed men in the Soba area. According to reports, the armed men stopped the youths. The youths reportedly became frightened and attempted to flee. One of the armed men allegedly opened fire, killing a 17-year-old boy.
