On April 15, the commissioner of Cueibet County in Lakes State, Deng Mario Deng, was suspended and arrested by security forces. He is a member of the opposition SPLM-IO party led by detained First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar. National Security shuts down radio station in Bor

7 June, 2025- South Sudan’s National Security Service forcibly shut down a Radio Jonglei 95.9 FM ,Community radio station in  Bor  town on Sunday, ejecting staff and briefly detaining a journalist without explanation even without warrants, locked the building and cut off live broadcast. Torit boy dies in custody

A 12-year-old boy died after being detained by security forces in Torit town, he was brutally beaten in custody. The boy was claimed to be part of a criminal gang. he was taken from his home in the early hours of June 1 by armed men who were guards of the Eastern Equatoria State Governor. NGO staff harassed by officials.

Officials reportedly harassed NGO staff members stopping the staff along a road and reportedly confiscated the staff’s ID cards and driving licenses. Officials reportedly took an unspecified amount of cash to release the documents.
