47 killed, 49 injured in deadly communal violence in Tonj East

(Warrap) Between 23 and 25 April 2026- At least 47 people have been killed and 49 others injured in separate incidents of communal violence in Tonj East County. The first attack occurred in Taber village and Thiek-Nhom cattle camp, an armed attack on Taber village in Ngapagog Payam, which led to the death of seven civilians and the wounding of five others. The second attack that occurred in Thisk-Nhom cattle camp on April 25, 2026, resulted in the death of 40 people and the wounding of five of 44 others.
