On August 19, 2025, the Pajok Community in Magwi is calling for a shift in action to address the continued border threat and provocation by the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF). This call came after soldiers from UPDF surrounded the residents in Pogee Payam in Otwilo area bordering the north of Uganda’s districts of Lamwo. The soldiers arrested two residents from their homes, forced them to hand over their phones, and demolished their houses. The chairperson of the Pajok community expressed this act as malicious and added that UPDF continues to patrol in the area of Patoko, Parapadwanya, and Abuloro, which host the South Sudanese returnees who voluntarily return to the camp.
