SSPDF officer killed in attack in Tambura county

On 20 August 2025, a South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF) officer was killed, and another was wounded in an attack by armed groups in the Maringi area of Tambura County. The clash occurred during an exchange of heavy gunfire between government forces and unidentified armed men.
