Two killed in Duk cattle raid, 6 injured in ambush

On 28 October 2026, separate attacks in Duk County, Jonglei State, reportedly left at least two people dead and six others injured, while 46 head of cattle were raided. The first incident occurred on Wednesday evening when armed assailants attacked a cattle camp between Poktap and Patuetnoi areas of Ageer Payam, killing two herders. In a separate incident on the same day, a truck travelling from Pajut to Poktap was attacked by the same armed group, leaving six people injured. The attackers are suspected to have come from the neighbouring Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA).
